Yesterday was a little bit of a shock with its -16 c weather. We’ve got the colder temperatures but where is the snow? As we wait for our snowscape to appear here’s an installation created by Tokujin Yoshioka which captures the essences of nature through the artificial simulation of snow. A friend sent me this link this afternoon and I have been dreaming of the lodge ever since. A perfect combination of stunning landscapes, fantastic art and comforting interiors. My next vacation spot is the Graff Estate.
Ever since her death in 1977, Australian born, Florance Broadhurst’s stunning designs have been showcased in various forms. The latest form being hand woven rugs that are produced in Nepal and consist of hemp, wool, nettle, bamboo silk and pure silk! These rare pieces of art are on a limited release and are even more spectacular to see in person. I recommend a trip to Canadian supplier, Modern Weave to do just that!

I was lucky enough to be in Paris France last week and I don’t think that I could love anywhere more. One of my favourite parts of the trip was visiting Merci, a beautiful large-scale department store in which at all of the proceeds from sales go to run a co-op for women in Madagascar. This charming store carries everything from cocktail napkins and vintage chairs to the latest Repetto ballet flats. What a store!!
