This coming weekend Toronto celebrates design through many events and exhibitions in our downtown area. The work displayed ranges from interiors to industrial design and can be seen represented in the Do Design exhibition through various locations along Dundas St west, Come Up To My Room held at the Gladstone Hotel, Radiant Dark located at 859 Dundas St West, and The Interior Design Show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. These are just a few of the main events happening. To learn more check out Toronto Design Offsite or pick up a DESIGNLINES magazine, both great guides to Toronto Design Week. Enjoy!

Vintage 69′s latest store on Walnut street in Toronto, has instantly become a community favourite. This charming little space has been curated with the utmost of love for it’s very first theme, Garden Party! This is the place to find that perfect summer dress or for guys perhaps a vintage bow tie.

One of our most favourite stores for mid century modern pieces, Machine Age Modern, has recently expanded to include a kitchen section. The new Machine Age Kitchen carries vintage pieces including cookbooks, aprons, cookware and flatware. A great place for gifts or to find that perfect splash of colour for your kitchen!

Walking by the Virginia Johnson store on Ossington today I had to stop. Her latest wool, chain stitched pieces are incredible gift ideas! A mix of handbags, decorative pillows, rugs and even phone cases! Go by the store or check them out on-line here.
Husband & wife, Jodi and Andrew of Batay-Csorba architecture have recently returned home to Canada after completing their masters in Architecture at the university of California. Their website is a modernists dream and I can barely wait to see what this duo will do first here in Toronto!

I just left the Gladstone hotel in Toronto where an exhibit called Public Displays of Affection is up showcasing local artists and industrial designers. These volunteers have created custom furniture designed for the new housing development, Edmond Place. I could tell from the show how much love has been put into these creations and for such a beautiful cause. Definitely worth checking out.

I’m absolutely in love with how Angus and Company is merchandised right now. Not only is it the perfect blend of old and new but they have added french music, the scent of lavender and cashmere blankets….why would anyone want to leave??

A site that I find myself constantly going back to for a great selection of works in art, architecture, graphics and interiors. Check out the work of Marco Jacob at Atelier Jacob.

What a weekend treat this store is! Located in the Junction in Toronto, MJOLK (Mi-Yelk) is a modernists dream. The store’s interior is a beautiful backdrop that showcases Scandinavian pieces that owners John and Juli have travelled far and wide to bring us! Definitely a store to spend some time inside. Also worth checking out while in the junction are our favourites SMASH and POST AND BEAM RECLAMATION.
